Okay maybe children in my position are not abducted (or maybe they are IDK) but holy shit I found a book on Amazon about how this one ex-Delta Commando was hired to bring a child who was a victim of parental abduction back to the United States.

So get this: a report published in The Kuwait Times this week claims Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s advisor, Buthaina Shaaban, has allegedly threatened to expose sex tapes involving… wait for it… rulers from Gulf countries.

Exactly. And that is what is commonly referred to as a “parental abduction”. But what if both the parents agree? Uggggggh being a minor is kind of horrible. Sometimes.

its called parenting. minors have virtually no rights lol legally speaking anyways. they gotta do what they legal guardian says.
I understand. I’m sure that’s not applicable in every situation, though. I’m hoping that this is one of those situations where they’re overstepping their boundaries.

I think we need some context here. If they’re tricking the kid into going to a doctor’s appointment or something, that’s different than forcing the kids to go somewhere dangerous and so on.

I think you need a lot more information to make a call like that. What’s their motivation?
They think that what they’re doing is justifiable because their cultural/religious norms are correct. It’s basically an extension of indoctrination, I’d say.

What do you call it when two parents mislead their child/children (who are essentially minors) into going somewhere where they don’t want to go? What would you call it if the parents refused to let the children leave, if the parents forced the child/children to stay? Would you categorize that as a form of abduction? Why or why not?
